How does Harper Lee Manage to Draw Together the Stories of Boo Radley E
How does Harper Lee Manage to Draw Together the Stories of Boo Radleyand Tom Robinson? Do you find her Way of doing this efficient? There is a strong literary motif running through Harper Lees novelTo Kill a Mockingbird. The stories of Boo Radley and Tom Robinsonare worn together by the way they are two mockingbirds in their ownway. Both men are on the outskirts of society and are misapprehend bythe predominantly white population of Maycomb. In the first part ofthe novel, there is a very important quote spenddShoot all the Bluejays you regard if you can hit em, but remember itsa sin to kill a mockingbird. To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel about a young person girl named JeanLouise Finch or Scout growing up in a very prejudiced American town inthe 1930s. Her life is plumb normal until her father, a lawyer namedAtticus, is asked to defend a black man charged with the rape of awhite girl, Mayella Ewell. Atticus knows there is no dislodge he can winbecause his defendant, Tom Robinso n is black and therefore guilty butas Atticus said himselfJust because we were licked a one hundred years before we started is noreason for us not to try to win.The jury persecutes Tom Robinson in his trial. It would have beenimpossible for him to abuse Mayella because he cannot use his leftarm. Mr Heck-Tate said that she had a black right eye, suggesting herattacker was left-handed. Her father, Bob Ewell, was, suggesting thathe beat her up. Because Tom couldnt punch Mayella with his left fist,it couldnt have been him. Tom Robinson is an estimable character andvery brave. He showed these qualities in the trial by speaking hismind and saying the truth, but this still was not enough to sway theju... ...or utilisation he leaves two dolls carved out of soap in the likeness of Jemand Scout. A lot of effort and thought would have gone into thosedolls, just to amuse the children. He has done nothing but try tomake the children happy but they are still unkind towards him.Harper Lees way of making both Boo Radley and Tom Robinsonmockingbirds is very effective. It gives the reader a parallel tocompare each two. Both men are on the outskirts of society and aremisunderstood by the predominantly white population of Maycomb. HarperLee draws the two stories together to give out a very powerfulmessage you shouldnt appraise people on the colour of their skin ortheir lifestyle. You never know exactly how that persons feelinguntil you climb inside their skin and walk around in it. This issummarised in a quote made by AtticusWere you ever a turtle huh?
